Author Guidelines

  1. Bioma receives scientific manuscripts in the major of biology and biology education from author who have not and will not be published in other printed or online media.
  2. The substance of the text can be the result of empirical research, or a theoretical study aimed at advancing the existing theory, or adapting the theory to a local situation, and/or the results of the theory to the purpose of analyzing and synthesizing theories.
  3. The manuscript is typed on only one side of the page, with 1.5 spacing and 3-4 cm from the edge of the paper. All pages are numbered. The manuscript may be accompanied by appropriate and relevant complementary means. The length of the manuscript is 10-15 pages (A4)
  4. The title should be informative, specific, concise, and contain keywords that describe the content of the manuscript and avoid the use of complex symbol. The maximum title length is 20 words which follow the scientific writing guidelines.
  5. The line of ownership (by-line) which consists of the author's name (name), and institutional affiliation (the name of the institution where the author works) is written complete and clear, along with its address and zip code, and corresponding e-mail address.
  6. The manuscript of the research is written according to the following systematics.
    1. Title, followed by ownership line
    2. Abstract, containing the information contained in the manuscript plainly, which illustrates the essence of the whole writing. Abstract length, not more than 200 words, written in one paragraph or paragraph with English, and Indonesian language.
    3. Keywords, consisting of 3-6 words, written below the abstract.
    4. Introduction, containing: subject description; theoretical and historical background; formulation of problems to be solved; hypothesis statement (if any); goals to be achieved; the method used, written without subheading.
    5. Materials and Methods, which contain information about the place and time of the study; subjects, materials, tools; and procedures, including analytical and data interpretation techniques, with suitable statistical models.
    6. Results and Discussions, which contain the result of the research and the discussions with clear and informative explanation. The result can be showed with tables, pictures, or diagram then be explained with sentences to make it clearer.
    7. Conclusion, containing the short answer of the research question
    8. Acknowledgement (if any)
    9. Reference, expect a minimum 20 references with a minimum of 75% to journal paper
