AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Authors must strictly follow the submission guidelines of Educalingua journal. To submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines provided, they will be REJECTED/RETURNED FOR CORRECTIONS. Please submit your paper through the Online Submission of this journal. You can use the Online Submission Guidelines for access to the Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Every manuscript submitted for publication in this journal will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin software. If plagiarism is detected, the authors will be informed and requested to rewrite the text or provide any necessary citations. The manuscript will be eligible for review and publication if the paper similarity index is less than 20%.

How to prepare the manuscript?

1. General Information

Educalingua Journal (e-ISSN: 3032-1247) publishes original research articles and conceptual papers in the field of language education, linguistics, and applied linguistics. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that contribute theoretically, methodologically, or practically to the advancement of English language education and linguistic studies.

All submissions must be written in English using Book Antiqua font, following the prescribed structure and referencing style. Manuscripts that do not conform to the format will be returned to the author for revision prior to review.

2. Manuscript Structure

For consistency and convenience, please use the TEMPLATE we already prepared for Author(s). 

Each manuscript should follow the sequence below:

  1. Title
    • Written in English, using Book Antiqua, Bold, 18 pt, centered.
    • Concise (no more than 15 words) and informative, reflecting the content of the paper.
  2. Author(s) Information
    • Each author’s name in Book Antiqua, Bold, 12 pt.
    • Below each name, include department, institution, country, and email address in Book Antiqua, 10 pt.
    • The corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk (*) and the email clearly indicated.
  3. Abstract and Keywords
    • Abstract in Book Antiqua, 11 pt, single-spaced, and not exceeding 200 words.
    • It should summarize the background, purpose, methodology, findings, and implications of the study.
    • Keywords: list no more than five keywords, arranged alphabetically, separated by commas.
  4. Main Sections
    The manuscript body should contain the following sections, each with Book Antiqua, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, and 1 cm indentation at the beginning of each paragraph:

a. Introduction

Provide the background of the study, theoretical grounding, and research objectives. State the research gap and the significance of the study. The introduction may integrate a brief literature review.

b. Literature Review (optional if integrated in Introduction)

Review related theories, prior studies, and conceptual frameworks relevant to your study. Include theoretical and methodological contributions.

c. Methodology

Describe the research design, participants, instruments, procedures, and data analysis techniques. Explain how validity and reliability (or trustworthiness in qualitative research) are maintained. The methodology must allow replication and critical evaluation.

d. Findings

Present the results logically, clearly, and concisely. Include tables and figures when necessary. Tables must be titled above (Book Antiqua, 11 pt) and figures below (Book Antiqua, 11 pt). Example:

    • Table 1. Name of Table
    • Figure 1. Name of Figure

e. Discussion

Interpret and explain the findings in light of the research questions and relevant literature. Discuss how the results support, contrast, or expand previous research. Highlight theoretical, pedagogical, or practical implications.

f. Conclusion

Summarize the main findings, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations for future research or educational practice. Optionally, include study limitations.

g. Acknowledgements (optional)

Mention funding sources, institutional support, or personal assistance received during the research and manuscript preparation.

h. References

References must follow APA 7th Edition style. Only include sources cited in the manuscript. Use a consistent format and manage citations using Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. The reference list must be arranged alphabetically.

  1. Manuscript Length
  • Manuscripts should be between 4,000–8,000 words, including the abstract, tables, figures, and references.
  • Longer papers may be accepted under exceptional scholarly merit.
  1. Formatting and Style
  • Font: Book Antiqua
  • Size: 12 pt for main text, 11 pt for abstract, tables, and figures
  • Spacing: 1.5 lines throughout the manuscript
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Indentation: 1 cm for the first line of each paragraph
  • Alignment: Justified text
  • Subheadings:
    • Level 1: Bold (e.g., Methodology)
    • Level 2: Bold Italic (e.g., Participants)
    • Level 3: Italic (e.g., Data Analysis)
  1. Tables and Figures
  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.).
  • Each must have a clear, concise title and be cited in the text.
  • Tables should not include vertical lines. Figures must be clear, high-resolution, and in editable formats.
  1. Citation and Referencing

All references and in-text citations should be in the APA 7th edition and present inside the article’s main body. References that are not cited should be removed. Use Mendeley Application for referencing tool.

Follow the APA 7th Edition referencing format for all in-text citations and references. Examples:

  • One author: (Clarke, 2010)
  • Two authors: (Braun & Clarke, 2006)
  • Three or more authors: (Reid et al., 1989)

Quotations:

  • Short quotes (<40 words): include in the paragraph with quotation marks.
  • Long quotes (≥40 words): display as indented block quotations without quotation marks.

  1. Submission and Review Process
  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the Educalingua Journal submission portal.
  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to make editorial changes without altering the core meaning of the manuscript.
  1. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  • All data presented are authentic and properly cited.
  • Ethical approval has been obtained when necessary.
  • Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) is strictly prohibited; all manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
