Correction and Retraction
Advance Sustainable Science, Engineering and Technology (ASSET) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Published articles are not changed or removed silently; any change is made transparently according to the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
1. Correction (Erratum / Corrigendum)
- Erratum – corrects an error introduced by the journal during editing or production.
- Corrigendum – corrects a significant error made by the authors that affects the record but not the main findings or conclusions (e.g. an error in a table, figure, affiliation or author name).
Authors who discover an error in their published article should contact the Editor at asset@upgris.ac.id as soon as possible. A correction notice is published in a current issue, linked to the original article, and the corrected version is clearly marked.
2. Expression of Concern
Where there is serious doubt about an article's reliability but an investigation is still ongoing or inconclusive, the Editor may publish an Expression of Concern linked to the article.
3. Retraction
An article may be retracted when:
- there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, because of misconduct (data fabrication or falsification) or honest error;
- it is plagiarised or has been published previously elsewhere (duplicate publication) without justification;
- it reports unethical research, or involves serious copyright, authorship or peer-review manipulation.
Retraction may be requested by the authors or decided by the Editor-in-Chief after investigation (see Research Misconduct). A Retraction Notice stating the reason and who requested the retraction is published and linked to the article. The original article remains online, but each page of the PDF is watermarked "RETRACTED", and the metadata is updated in Crossref and indexing services.
4. Removal
In rare legal cases (e.g. defamatory content, infringement of legal rights, or serious health risks), an article may be removed. The bibliographic metadata remains online with a notice explaining the removal.
