Focus and Scope
Focus
JIPMat (Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Matematika) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technology Education (FPMIPATI), Universitas PGRI Semarang. The journal publishes empirical research, development research, and research syntheses on the teaching and learning of mathematics at all levels of education, from primary school (SD/MI) and secondary school (SMP/MTs, SMA/MA/SMK) to higher education.
Scope
JIPMat welcomes manuscripts in, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Learning models, strategies, and approaches – Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, cooperative learning (STAD, TPS, FSLC, etc.), Realistic Mathematics Education, Creative Problem Solving, Brain-Based Learning, flipped classroom, case-based learning, Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), and outdoor learning.
- Learning media and technology – dynamic geometry software (GeoGebra, Cabri 3D), augmented reality, Android-based media, interactive e-modules, educational games, artificial intelligence in mathematics learning, and concrete/manipulative media.
- Development of learning materials and didactic design – lesson plans and learning devices, student worksheets (LKPD), hypothetical learning trajectories, and didactic design.
- Students’ mathematical thinking and abilities – problem solving, critical and creative thinking, mathematical communication and connection, conceptual understanding, computational thinking, geometric thinking (Van Hiele levels), and students’ thinking processes.
- Mathematical literacy, numeracy, and assessment – PISA- and AKM-based literacy and numeracy, analysis of students’ errors (e.g., Newman, Watson), authentic assessment, and curriculum implementation (Kurikulum Merdeka).
- Affective factors in mathematics learning – self-efficacy, mathematics anxiety, interest, motivation, self-concept, cognitive and thinking styles, and learner diversity, including students with special learning needs.
- Ethnomathematics and the integration of local culture in mathematics learning.
- Meta-analyses and systematic reviews in mathematics education.
