Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when financial or personal relationships could influence, or appear to influence, a person's judgement about a manuscript. JIPMat (Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Matematika) requires all parties involved in publication to disclose any potential conflict of interest.
Authors
- Must disclose all sources of funding for the research (including grant numbers) and any financial or non-financial relationships that might affect the work, such as employment, consultancy, sponsorship, or personal and professional relationships with the schools, institutions, or organizations involved.
- Must include a Conflict of Interest statement in the manuscript. If there is none, write: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
Reviewers
- Must decline an invitation to review if they have a competing, collaborative, or personal relationship with any of the authors or institutions connected to the manuscript, or if they cannot judge it objectively.
- Must not use unpublished information from a manuscript for their own advantage.
Editors
- Must not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including manuscripts from close collaborators. Such manuscripts are assigned to another editor.
- Manuscripts submitted by editors or editorial board members go through the same peer review process as other manuscripts, and the submitting editor is excluded from all decisions on that manuscript.
Undisclosed conflicts of interest discovered after publication are handled according to our Research Misconduct and Correction and Retraction policies.
