Authorship Criteria
JIPMat (Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Matematika) follows the authorship recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Every person listed as an author must take public responsibility for the content of the article.
Who qualifies as an author
An individual may be listed as an author only if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of data;
- Drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content;
- Approved the final version of the manuscript to be published; and
- Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work, including its accuracy and integrity.
Contributors who do not meet the criteria
Persons who contributed to the work but do not meet all of the criteria above (for example, teachers or schools that facilitated data collection, research assistants, language editors, or those who provided general support or funding) must not be listed as authors. They should be thanked in the Acknowledgements section, with their permission.
Responsibilities of the corresponding author
- Ensures that all eligible authors are included and that no ineligible persons are listed (no gift, guest, or ghost authorship).
- Confirms that all co-authors have seen and approved the final manuscript and agreed to its submission.
- Acts as the main contact with the editorial office during review and after publication.
Author contribution statement
Manuscripts with more than one author should include a short statement describing each author's contribution (for example, using the CRediT taxonomy: conceptualization, methodology, data curation, formal analysis, writing – original draft, writing – review & editing, supervision).
Changes to authorship
The list and order of authors should be finalized before submission. Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be sent to the editor by the corresponding author, with the reason for the change and written agreement from all authors, including the person being added or removed. Changes are not accepted after the article has been published, except through a formal correction.
Use of generative AI
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the work. See our Generative AI Policy.
Authorship disputes are handled following the COPE flowcharts. Questions may be sent to achmadbuchori@upgris.ac.id.
