PAUDIA: Jurnal Penelitian dalam Bidang Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini is committed to maintaining the quality, integrity, and relevance of scholarly publications in the field of Early Childhood Education. Reviewers play an important role in evaluating submitted manuscripts and providing constructive feedback to help authors improve the scientific quality of their work.
These guidelines outline the responsibilities of reviewers, the ethical principles governing the review process, and the main criteria for evaluating manuscripts submitted to PAUDIA.
Reviewers are expected to:
Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and critically according to their academic expertise.
Assess the originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's Focus and Scope.
Provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments that help authors improve their manuscripts.
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript and explain which aspects require clarification, revision, or further justification.
Maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
Identify potential ethical concerns, including suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, and other possible research misconduct.
Submit their reviews within the agreed deadline and communicate promptly with the editor if difficulties arise.
Provide recommendations based on the scientific merit of the manuscript rather than personal preferences, institutional affiliations, or other irrelevant considerations.
Before accepting an invitation to review a manuscript, reviewers should consider the following:
Reviewers should accept assignments only when the manuscript falls within their area of expertise. If substantial parts of the manuscript are outside their competence, they should inform the editor.
The standard review period at PAUDIA is two weeks. Reviewers should ensure that they can complete the evaluation within this period. If additional time is required, they should notify the editor as early as possible.
If a reviewer is unable to complete the review, they should inform the editor promptly so that alternative arrangements can be considered.
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could affect their judgment. These may include financial, personal, professional, institutional, or academic relationships with the authors or the research concerned.
If a conflict of interest may compromise the objectivity of the review, reviewers should discuss the matter with the editor before proceeding.
Manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, distribute, or discuss the manuscript with unauthorized individuals without permission from the editor.
Information, data, arguments, and ideas obtained through peer review must not be used for personal, academic, or professional advantage before the work is publicly available.
Reviews must be conducted objectively and professionally. Comments should focus on the scientific content, methodology, interpretation, and presentation of the manuscript. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate.
Reviewers should provide specific explanations and, where possible, suggestions that enable authors to address identified weaknesses.
Reviewers should inform the editor if they identify possible concerns regarding plagiarism, redundant or duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or other potential ethical violations.
Concerns should be reported confidentially to the editor with relevant explanations or evidence. Reviewers should not make unsupported accusations or independently investigate the authors.
Reviewers must respect the intellectual property of authors. Unpublished material contained in a manuscript must not be reproduced, disclosed, or used in the reviewer's own research without appropriate authorization.
Reviewers should assess the manuscript as a whole, considering its relevance to Early Childhood Education, scientific contribution, methodological quality, ethical integrity, and clarity of presentation.
